My College Network contract was cancelled 30 min. after signing and the rep didn't do it!

I made it clear throughout my meeting with the rep who wrote my contract that I DID NOT want a Bachelor's, only an AS and he wrote it for the BS anyways. I should have read it more carefully, but I cancelled less than an hour later to be rewritten for the AS when I came back from Ohio as I was leaving that night. He assured me he would hold it but LIED. I'm being harassed for payment of a BS I don't want and they won't cancel. My phone calls are proof I cancelled.

Preying on nurses

I am appaulled at this company, for preying on hard working nurses that really want to better themselves. I have raised my children, worked for over 28 years as a nurse, trying to make ends meet with a 14-16 hour day, praying that I could study get what I needed to be able to obtain an RN, so that I could support myself in later years. This company sells a bill of goods. I have practiced and practiced, spoke to college professors, showed the "modules" and talk to active nursing students, there is no possible way, this program is successful. Im not sure how many other nurses in the East Texas area have fallen for this. This must be stopped, this is going to damage lives as well as your credit. Just today, I tried to log on, and my account "has expired", naturally you cant contact anyone as there hours are not worker friendly. Im desperate. I did not work this hard to get here, Im not going to give up my money for this. If anyone has any information for the state of Texas, please can someone forward it to me at dj21864@***.com

I am also having the same things happen to me with this company. Not only is the material not on the tests, but now I'm finding it difficult to find a testing center to take the exams.

The ones on the list no longer except outside students.

The whole program is very disappointing and I should have listened to a collegue of mine who went through the program and said to stay away. I would also like to be involved in the class action lawsuit.

Please add me and read my post, thanks.

I am a Registered Nurse now and I to was scammed with this company prior to finishing my degree in a regular college. I had a lady come to my house and promise me a degree in Nursing in less than a year I was so happy to hear that i could better myself in such a way that I signed up only to do my research a couple of days later and realize that no hospital would even hire you from such a program with no clinical practice and that you should stay away from programs like this.

I tried to contact the company at that time I was told it was to late to cancel and that i was stuck. I never received all the modules and they put the total amount on my credit which i am trying to fight.

The college network is the worst please do not sign up with these people. I want to be in any action lawsuit against them if anyone knows of anything please contact me at tboat25@***.com.

on top of all the *** that is going on with the college network, their staff is unporfessional and do not offer any assistance. i called three separate occasions and all were rude and did not help.

on top of that they said that all the chem and was accepted all all californa school, which is a lie.

Everyone MUST READ THIS POSTING BY Kiransahni!!!!!!!!! .....It is the absolute truth, A year into their program I realized it was ***-(no academic support.. no wonder they never advertise their completion rates!!!) I refuse to pay them anymore money!!!!...I'm was so disgusted, that I didn't care it appeared on my credit report..you know why?...I am now able to afford the costs of repairing my credit since I was actually able to FINISH my coursework in a focused, guided, time specific legitimate RN program

The College Network is a scam!!

They lied and stated the were from excelsior college and I was enrolling in the college and I would recieve my textbooks included in the cost of tuition. It has been years I have paid $140 a month for their worthless "books" not the college and I still owe over $4,000! This guy came to my house and made all kinds of promises like I would recieve a tutor and such. They should be held accountable for all the people they ripped off and for claining they were from Excelsior! A good story can only last so long! They should be out of business!

This is the worst mistake i have made. I am single mother struggling and have been paying these high payments for couple of years.

I can't get out of the loan and have no reason to conitnue with them. They do not offer any other programs that i would be interested in. I have made several attempts to stop this loan with no success. I am stuck and having to choose between food and paying these payments.

I can't afford to have this on my credit either. If anyone can help I would greatly appricaite it....

Without a doubt The College Network was the worst (and most expensive) mistake I've ever made. I wanted to work on my BSN and "thought" this was a good way to start.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! A representative from College Network came to my home, gave his sales pitch, then gave me the "act now" speech to get started. Well I fell for it like an ***. He gave me my 1st book to study, had me sign the finance papers, and left.

When I started getting struck on things I called for help. The only thing I got was the "you can do it" pep talk. As a result, I failed and never used the system. That was in 2007 and today (in 2014) I'm still paying on the loan and still owe $2500.00.

They've even sold my account to a different financial group twice.

We moved to Florida where my company is now paying for my BSN at a much cheaper rate. I would NEVER RECOMMEND College Network to anyone, especially the school I was originally getting my degree from.

The College Network - THEY LIE!

The College Network Reps definitely need to know the rules and regulations of TNC. My wife was told that she could get out of her classes if she decided to take her first class and she couldn't do it. The rep said it would be "no problem". Well, she decided that she would feel more comfortable in an actual classroom setting so we called to cancel. "Well, there is a 4 class minimum that you have to take." the rep told us. He then gave us a 1-800 number to call. The academic advisers informed us that we had to pay back the entire loan! Who is lying to us???? We have been told 3 different things! So, just be aware of all of the fine print and don't let your rep come in and sale you this college. Take your time. Also, always check out the BBB website. Don't make the same mistake we did. Hopefully we can settle this dispute, I just don't want to pay $8, 000 for 1 class! A Facebook page has been created called The College Network - BEWARE. We need to spread the word to the whole world so become a fan and post your story. The link to this page is: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-College-Network-BEWARE/285853****03?ref=ts&v=wall

We are collectively building a class action case against The College Network, Inc and potentially the credit unions involved. Anyone interested in being included in the suit please forward your First and Last Name, the state you live in, email address, and a phone number you can be reached at.

Also include the Name of the Credit Union your manuals were financed at. If you submit your information make certain that you have the relevant paperwork from college network to prove your eligibility for inclusion in the suit. Copies of those forms will eventually be needed by the law firm representing us. The law firm will request those documents directly from you, do not send them to me.

As of right now we are getting a head count of how many have been effected and the state they reside. My wife was scammed and I am paying a Class Action firm here in Dallas to analyze our case for eligibility under Federal Jurisdiction as a national class action suit. Send info to tnclawsuit@***.com .

Remember to include the state you live in as this will determine the type of class action suit we are able to file. Please spread the word as we want to aggressively get this going.

At this point,I have come to an agreement with TCN,(unless) additional problems should arise. This matter will be desolved shortly.

I have the TCN calling me demanding money they wanted to do a verbal transfer of funds so my in-laws stated they would but when it came down to it they wanted them to front the full bill up front not me making a payment of a 100.00 a month. When this didnt work they went so far to tell me that I should get a second job.

I called them back because they left a message on my phone that the department of justice mandated me to call their office. Does the department of justice do this?

this program is nothing but a big scam with alot of fradulent promises i caanot believe they are still in business does anyone out there know what to do about this company, very frustrating to have to pay for something i did not use. they send my account to collections damaging my credit and on trying to call for customer service you can hardly ever get a hold of anyone. during signing up they promised a tutor which they are not able to provide, we work hard for our money and for the tune of 5,200 the service should be satisfactory.

AVOID THE COLLEGE NETWORK- ISU Program

Please do not sign up for the ISU program through College Network. They lie the program is not 18 months it is more of 5 years. The phase 3 is 3 years alone we just found out and they lie about you having to complete the TEAS exam. It is a requirement. Be very leary. Once you sign there are only 3 days to get rid of them. I am so surprised that Indiana University would even do business with TCN. Criminals. Moreover, they are in partnership with a credit union that will hunt you down if you try to cancel through your bank the fraudulent charges that you will continue to be responsible for although they have changed their end of the contract. Heed my warning do not do business with them.

I received a phone call yesterday from the College Network in regards to my last post .

The call center representative claims my statements were false and wanted to address "my confusion".

Well lets see... I am not confused about the interest on the loans being excessive near 13% interest....beware..... it will take years to pay these loans off. THESE LOANS only have a recission of 3 days.

I am not confused about being lied to about being able to complete the Indiana State program at my own pace (18 months is the advertisement that I saw and it continues to be posted on various places on the internet, in which is a complete lie.... the Indiana State LPN to BSN program is not a self paced program.

PART 1 and 2 you do on your own. PART 3 is 3 years at Indiana State pace. Now that is not what lures consumers in...

The representative further wants to address "my confusion" on where these items can be found in a book that you are given after you sign under false pretenses ie... the TEAS exam, and the chances of not getting into the UNIVERSITY ( because there truly is a some sort of deadline/tme period for admission- it is not a rolling admission into the nursing program).

Now to sum up what I am perfectly clear on.... INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY ONLINE LPN TO BSN program IS NOT SELF PACED. YOU MUST MEET SPECIFIC GUIDLEINES TO GET INTO THE UNIVERSITY,YOU MUST APPLY TO THE UNIVERSITY AND HAVE THESE GUIDELINES MET BY CERTAIN DATES, or you wll not get in to the nursing program.

DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE DEALING WITH TCN

Dear Pooh124,

The Georgia BON has reversed their decision and they are now accepting graduates of Excelsior's ASN program. Excelsior is the degree-granting institution and they are accredited. Georgia had temporarily stopped accepting graduates of the program for licensure due to the lack of clinical experience, but they have reconsidered. For more information, please contact Academic Support at 1-80*-***-****.

I am not sure what you feel you were lied to about, but Academic Support is available to assist you with your program.

The college network - stealing money

I joined the college network to get my as degree in nursing, a advisor came to my house and talked for 2 hours about how great their progam is and how they help people earn their degrees. I paid a down payment of $200.00, but put on check "for June 20th". The advisor assured my this was no problem and they work with everyone, etc. Of course, my check was cashed right away, I'm broke, I called them and their attitude was "so what, what can you do", so I told them to cancel my contract, they refused and added they will sue my if I don't pay. These people are after your money only. AVOID AT ALL COSTS (And I mean this very literally)!!!!!

I too contacted the college network. I did this via email and the same day they called me and stated they just happened to have someone that could come to my house the very next day.

The guy, who now no longer works for the company, came to my house and told me all of these great wonderful things about the college network. The major problem is that he neglected to tell me that it was going to cost me much more than I expected. First, he told me that my clinicals would only be 375.00 and this is saved in a voice mail on my phone, when in fact, it costs 1950.00. He also neglected to tell me that Excelsior college was about another 5000.00 or so.

He also did not give me some sort of paper that was printed longways according to some lady at the college network that contained this exact information. I have called them and tried to talk with them. I have called the credit union and they referred me to college network. Now, I have this credit union calling me about paying this loan that they were not willing to talk with me about in the first place.

Do not sign anything that has to do with the college network.

It is all just a big scam to get your money. They expect you to pay back a loan that you are not using for anything because the college network says so.

Send info to tnclawsuit@***.com.

Remember to include the state you live in as this will determine the type of class action suit we are able to file. Please spread the word as we want to aggressively get this going.

Dear Suzanne,

After reading your complaint I became quite concerned with some of your claims so I decided to do some research on your account.

Our recordes indicate that your deposit check was not deposited until 6/20/08 as you had requested. Our records also indicate that on 6/25/08 your deposit check was returned for insufficient funds.

Additionally, I see that you have 2 defaulted contracts with The College Network. We would be more than happy to provide you with documentation supporting our position.

If we can answer any questions for you, please contact Academic Support.

Sincerely,

Rick

I'm basically stuck....

I took out a consumer loan through a company called College Network thinking it would "help" me in becoming a LPN to an RN. The College Network failed to inform me the headaches of this program plus misinformed me of a few important things so I decided this program isn't for me and called to tell them I'm not happy with their "help" and wish to cancel but since I signed this contract for a loan of over $7000 I have no choice but to stay in this program I'm not happy with plus which is costing me more money I ever imagined!
